Advanced Materials and Structures (AMS) is a peer-reviewed, quarterly international journal that publishes original research articles, short communications, and review papers focused on the microstructure-process-property-performance relationships, as well as the design, synthesis, and manufacturing of advanced engineering materials, components, and structures with enhanced mechanical or functional properties. As a multidisciplinary journal, AMS welcomes submissions that demonstrate how a fundamental understanding of the chemical and physical phenomena underlying material microstructure development and processing or manufacturing routes guides the design of novel materials and structures with targeted properties. Enhanced performance must be substantiated through theoretical calculations, physical or mathematical modeling, computer simulations, and advanced characterization techniques, with all simulations validated by experimental results.
