Types of Papers
AMS publishes three types of manuscripts: Full-Length Research Articles, Short Communications, and Review Papers.
Full-Length Research Articles
These articles present original research conducted with significant depth that provides substantial contributions to the field of advanced materials. Submissions must include a comprehensive analysis and discussion of results, clearly establishing relationships among microstructure, properties, design, manufacturing processes, and performance. Rigorous validation at both the material and structural levels is required to ensure the reliability and applicability of the findings.
Short Communications
Short Communications present research findings of immediate significance. There are no restrictions on word count or the number of figures, but the total length must not exceed four printed pages.
Review Papers
Review Papers are accepted only from authors with a substantial publication record in the relevant field. These papers must provide a comprehensive and up-to-date overview and a critical assessment of the state of the art in the relevant field. Authors are expected to critically assess existing methods, approaches, and published results, evaluating their reliability and impact. The review should offer insightful synthesis and contribute meaningfully to the consolidation and advancement of knowledge in the subject area.
